We promote a culture of strong delegated decision making, as such our team members are what makes us successful.THE ROLEYou will work with data, modelling and energy experts to source, clean & manage large datasets, and facilitate the development of novel geospatial software datasets that address some of the world’s most pressing energy and climate-related problems.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESNovel GIS data preparation, data management, analysis, mapping and visualisationContributing to the development of interactive web apps and software for modelling and data visualisationContributing to technical documentationAutomation of geospatial data workflowsSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSDegree educated or equivalent in a relevant disciplineExperience and understanding of GIS tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or similarExperience in programming languages such as Python/Jupyter Notebook, R, or similarExperience with data management, processing, analysis, and interpretationExperience working with sustainable technologies (e.g., renewable energy modelling, low carbon infrastructure, etc)Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsAdaptable and proactive with a willingness to grow in the role as the team builds in a frequently changing environmentImplementation of good coding practices and efficient data handling within the confines of the codeExperience with relational databases (e.g.,
PostgreSQL/PostGIS,
Oracle, SQL Server)Some experience in the utilisation of cloud services provided by platforms like AWS or GCPPLACE OF WORKThis role is remote first. The company is based in Cambridge and has a shared office in Cambridge and London Farringdon.
