Title: Geo-Environmental Engineer

Salary: �30,000 - �40,000

Location: London

Role Overview

We are currently working alongside a well-renowned engineering consultancy who are currently looking to expand its operations within either its London or Watford offices. The candidate would be coming into an already dynamic team to assist in the internal development and growth of the company and provide reliable contaminated land assessments to our clients' external clientele base.

  • Conducting ground investigation sampling, laboratory analysis, and scoping, and reviewing Preliminary Risk Assessments and intrusive ground investigations.
  • Possesses the ability to supply geo-environmental ground investigation scoping and basic risk assessment and a high level of understanding of contaminated land legislation and planning regimes.
  • Providing expert advice to internal teams around geo-environmental assessments and communicating effectively with external clients.
  • Writing and reviewing interpretive reports on methods and strategies.
  • Prior experience liaising with Regulators and Local Authorities in connection with land inspection for the discharge of contaminated land.
  • Experience using CLR11 and suitable assessment tools like CLEA & ConSim.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with external clients.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/sciences, Geology/Earth Sciences or any other related field.
  • Although an MSc in Environmental Engineering or a closely related subject would be beneficial, it is not essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of expertise in the field conducting site investigation and assessment, planning, and regulatory liaison and remediation.
  • The expectation would be for the candidate to be chartered or in the process of working towards chartered status.
  • Strong working proficiency in quantitative risk assessments.
