Our client a leading Generator Service Company in the UK, specializing in the supply, service, maintenance, and repair of all generating sets and control systems. Our client is currently seeking a skilled Generator Service Engineer with a strong electrical background to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in servicing, maintaining, and repairing generating sets and control systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and make a meaningful impact in ensuring the continuous operation of critical power systems.



Responsibilities:




  • Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of generating sets and control systems.

  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify electrical faults and implement effective solutions.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients, both onsite and remotely.

  • Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions and exceed customer expectations.

  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including reports, inspection logs, and parts inventory.



Requirements:




  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing generators and control systems, preferably in a field service capacity.

  • Strong electrical background with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.

  • Knowledge of generator control panels, switchgear, and associated electrical components.

  • Experience with diesel engines, alternators, voltage regulators, and automatic transfer switches.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric approach.

  • Flexibility to travel to client sites as required and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

  • Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
