NHS Medical & Dental: GP Educator - GP00Job overviewNHS England are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative GP educator to join the East of England School of Primary Care as a Training Programme Director for the Huntingdon Programme.The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the posts in both hospital and general practice to construct GPST programmes meeting the criteria set out by the RCGP and COGPED. Working with NHSE to record programmes and facilitate appropriate trainee placements.The successful applicant will work with other local TPDs and administrators to facilitate the provision of the half day release course for GPSTs, including managing available funds and resources.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will provide professional educational support to all postgraduate clinical learners in primary and community care within the local programme. The team of programme directors will also share overall responsibility for the provision of educational support to the service.Individuals will have shared responsibility for providing:Advice with regard to training environments in primary care for Foundation doctors.Management and provision of the GP specialty training programme locally.Support to GPs across the transition from specialty training to independent practice.Support to GPs and their teams in undertaking CPD.Advice about general educational matters to primary care organisations.Advice and support for appraisal processes in primary care.Support to doctors and service commissioners with performance concerns in specialty training and post CCT.Working for our organisationIn April 2023, NHS England, NHS Digital, and Health Education England merged to create a new, single organisation to lead the NHS in England.
