This General Manager role is part of a large, well established and privately owned firm with a proud past and a progressive future. They are customer-focused with a solid reputation for excellence in diesel engine and automatic transmission overhaul and repair. They are dealers and distributors of some of the world’s leading manufacturers of automatic transmissions, drivetrain systems and diesel engines.

In this role you’ll have ownership of a specific original equipment manufacturer (OEM), responsible for running their service operations for powertrain products and diesel engines. This will give you responsibility for profitable sales, health and safety, service delivery, and ultimately profit and loss. Sound challenging? Don’t worry because there will be lots of company support behind you, coupled with a thorough training and development programme to help you take this step forward with confidence.

You’ll need a solid foundation of knowledge and experience to build on, including:

* a good technical understanding of heavy plant, diesel engines and powertrain products, covering service, maintenance and overhaul.

* a good grasp of costs and profit for the jobs you’ve worked on.

* a customer centric attitude and be prepared to liaise and negotiate with customers.
