The client:

Part of an international manufacturing group, our client is a thermoplastic polymer compounder with a rich heritage.  A new General Manager is required who has the passion, vision and capability to lead the further development of this company, which has benefitted from significant recent investment and new customer acquisitions. 

Primary Role:

Take responsibility for the business leadership of this plastics manufacturer, leading it into its next phase of growth and development

Responsibilities:

• Direct responsibility for the P&L overseeing the development of company and its results-based performance


• Provide leadership across all functions: production, sales, technical, quality and planning


• Further improving the Business Infrastructure, structure and reporting, ensuring it meet its future growth objectives through accurate understanding of the key performance drivers


• Budgeting, profitability planning and forecasting


• Leadership/motivation/development of the management team and all site personnel; inspiring the workforce into achieving the business goals


• Ensuring the factory is running ‘stable operations’ and is benefitting from best practice within the Group, working towards operational excellence


• Close interaction with the other group subsidiaries to ensure objectives, culture and processes are well aligned with group expectations

Candidate Profile:

• Proven background with professional experience from a dynamic plastics manufacturing environment (polymers, injection moulding, blow moulding, masterbatch, extrusion)


• Financial acumen necessary to deliver against this type of role


• Experienced and collaborative leader who has gravitas and inspirational qualities


• Business and Commercial bias keen to lead this SME through its next phase of growth
