Particular emphasis on close working with the Professional Heads of Service and SDU leads to develop relationships with all stakeholders and improve Quality. The post-holder will assist the Director, Deputy Director, SDU Leads, and Nursing Leads, by providing efficient and effective operational and general service management to services within the Directorate. Providing cancer related activities, ensuring that services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards. They will also take forward projects to improve service delivery for both areas which include patient experience.The post-holder will need to be a critical thinker and proactive problem solver and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical and managerial colleagues. They will also be a key member of the Care Group Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully always informed.Main duties of the jobProvide management and leadership oversight to Ophthalmology, OMFS & ENT, under the Care Group of Surgery and Critical Care.Plan and manage the implementation of projects to modernise services and to improve facilities and working practices to meet organisational and service delivery plans.Lead on the development of specific staff engagement measures within the defined service areas, and support the implementation of the Care Groups Staff Survey and Engagement action plan, so that staff are able to contribute effectively to the achievement of objectives and targetsMonitor service improvement programmes and associated work streams that support specific patient pathways.
