General Manager of Facilities

Job Title: General Manager - Facilities
Location: Croydon (CR7)
Pay rate: �27.93 per hour
Days: 37.5 hours per week
Start date: Available immediately
Length of contract: Initially 3 months
GI Group Recruitment are now recruiting for a General Manager for our Public Sector client's facilities department on an interim basis. The post holder will be professionally accountable for the client's Support Services and will lead the operational direction of Facility Services. This post will involve adhoc working at weekends on a rota basis if required and on call.
Main duties of the General Manager of Facilities

• Management of outsourced services, including Domestic Services, Grounds & Gardens, Laundry & Linen, Portering Services, Postal Services, Uniforms and Waste Management.
• Responsible for a programme of Environment inspections.
• To ensure that there are clear and transparent measure of success (KPI's) for the post holder service(s) and these are delivered at the required level.
• Deliver against objectives, achieving quality outcomes, prioritising own workload, and working to tight deadlines; ensure targets are met, identify and escalate potential risks.
• To deputise for the Head of Facilities across the full range of their duties.
• To be the subject matter expert for Waste Management.

Criteria

• Management Qualification -Minimum diploma level 4 or equivalent.
• Degree and Specialist Knowledge acquired through post graduate courses and experience.
• Experience of the management of Healthcare Waste.
• Waste Management Qualifications (desirable).
• Extensive experience in managing large scale facilities management contracts and cleaning services.
• Proven experience of line management of staff.
• Experience of face-to-face contact with the public.
