General Counsel at a Multi-Family Office
Our client, an award winning multi-family office with in excess of £1bn AUM, is looking to hire a General Counsel to run the firm's legal function from its Mayfair office.
The successful candidate will be qualified in England and Wales, have over 5 years' PQE and have previously trained at a well-regarded private practice law firm. They will have either moved into an in-house role or have significant experience working in-house via secondments, ideally at an Asset Manager, Wealth Manager or Family Office.
Lead the general counsel function of the firm, overseeing all legal matters related to client engagements, investments, and business operations.
Draft, review, and negotiate investment management agreements, NDAs, and other legal documents.
Support on corporate transactions, particularly in the context of direct private equity and private credit investments.
Ensure the firm’s compliance with FCA regulatory requirements, including the review of financial promotions, implementation of consumer duty framework and policies, and ensure continued improvement and enhancement of the firm’s existing policies and procedures. This will be supported by the firm’s existing regulatory advisers.
Lead and drive deals to completion from a legal perspective, demonstrating discipline and an entrepreneurial approach.
Advise the Partners on regulatory and general corporate / commercial matters.

Ability to work autonomously and lead complex projects from inception to completion.
