Executive Network Group has been retained by a global commodities client to recruit their General Counsel & CoSec, based in London. This new position will report directly to the board and will hold the global mandate for legal matters across the UK, Europe, US and Asia. As an experienced legal counsel you will play a crucial part in guiding strategic decisions, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all global operation.
As a global, cross-commodities business the regulatory landscape is quite complex. Therefore previous experience in the commodities market will be required for this role. Please note that you will have access to external in-country specialists where required.

Previous experience requirements;

• Prior legal experience in private practice;
• Previous commodities experience will be required for this position;
• Litigation;
• Some regulatory experience is strongly preferred;
• A proven track record of advising on commercial issues, as well as on legal and regulatory risks;
• Experience of handling corporate governance matters including but not limited to board meetings, shareholder communications, and regulatory filings;
• Previous international experience will be required. Preferably inclusive of the US;
• Previous experience of supporting on strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
