JOB DETAILS:

Working on behalf of a charity, JO Recruitment are looking for a General Assistant for a residential unit to join their maintenance team. This is a temporary to permanent position, 35 hours per week including weekend working. Weekday shift: 8am to 2pm or 12pm to 6pm and Weekend shift: 8am to 6pm. The hourly rate is £13.17 per hour PAYE; which is equivalent to £25,339 salary plus you will receive £3K London living allowance after probation period.

We are looking for an experienced General Assistant for charity organisation located near Poplar, East London. This charity provides accommodation to homeless and provides various facilities and services to them as well as catering and different functions.

The role of the General Assistant is to assist the Facilities Manager.

• Carry out basic maintenance duties e.g. changing light bulbs, unblocking drains and

toilets, and assisting with basic tasks on the helpdesk.

• Ensure that the Garden is regularly maintained e.g. mowing the lawn, weeding plants,

maintaining the decking.

• Ensure that front of the building is kept clean and tidy at all times.

• Empty all dustbins at least once daily and as required.

• Mop/Hoover all the stairs at least once a day and as required.

• Mop and clean both the front and back lifts daily.

• Assist with deliveries and moving of furniture when required.

• Assist with room clearances when residents leave.

• Clean the basement as directed by the Facilities Manager.

• Clean all spillages including human related waste products ensuring health and safety

procedures are followed at all times.

• Deep clean Residents communal bathroom & carpets, chairs on a rotational basis.

• Deep clean different areas of the building as directed by the Facilities Manager.

• Clean and maintain residents and staff toilets and bathrooms on Public Areas

• Ensure toilet rolls and paper towel and soap dispensers are replenished as required in all

toilets.

• Undertake all aspects of cleaning including vacuuming, hard floor mopping,

polishing, dusting, wall washing and upholstery cleaning.
