Our high-quality, premium online games provider based in Ipsiwtch, England - Switch Studios, is currently on the look out for an experienced, self-driven and motivated
Game Design Team Lead who is anexpert in managing workflow and people, with a business focus, to ensure we meet the demands of our product roadmap.
You will be reporting to the Head of Productandwill ensure workflow is prioritised within exiting processes to deliver top quality packages of work.
What you'll do:
Effectively managing a team that create, development ready, new game packages.Managing through a ‘light touch’ approach thus providing focus and guidance where appropriate.Fostering and assisting in a healthy collaborative relationship across teams, both within the studio and the wider business.Facilitating proactive issue and blocker resolution though effective problem solving and communication skills.Working with the Head of Product and existing processes to ensuring the team have a plan which is aligned with, and helps achieve, the studio strategy.Effectively allocating appropriate resources to projects, under the direction of the Head of Product, to ensure that project deadlines and requirements are met.Assisting the Head of Product and all other team leads in continually improving the game Design Team processes to support business objectives.The provision of regular feedback to the Head of Product, regarding team performance and project progress.Managing the creation/revision of all product documentation.Managing, mentoring, and coaching the team.Perform regular catchups with team members as necessary.Participates in the recruitment of new staff along with the Head of Product, when necessary.Ensure that company issues, policies and procedures are communicated to the team within 7 days.Ensures that the team members are equipped with the requisite skill set required for both current and future projects by developing a training and career development plan for each team member. Conducts performance appraisals of department members at least twice a year.Documents the performance appraisal results and maintains a portfolio of evidence for each team member.Monitors performance of team members on an ongoing basis and takes effective steps to deal with non-performance.Who are we looking for?
3+ years of professional experience in the management of software development (Scrum Master, Project Management, Software Delivery Management)Experience in various SDLC methodologies.Great interpersonal and communication skills.Initiative and a can-do attitude.The ability to multi-task and keep the plates spinning.Ability to coach & mentor, as well as manage performance.
Highly advantageous qualifications are:
Experience of managing a multi-skilled creative development team.Experience in gaming software.Experience of an artistic pursuit from either a personal or business perspective.
