Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 (Commensurate with skills and experience)
What you'll be doing:
Manage the FESS subsystem design artefacts provided by the external FESS sub-system suppliers
Responsibility for investigations into problems related to the supplier subsystem designs
Support the integration of new capabilities into the FESS
Creating and reviewing documentation to be used by the wider FESS team and customers
Configuring supplier provided software to ensure that the application builds are successfully carried out on a regular basis
Maintaining familiarity with all current tools /Software (SW) products / processes used within the team
Managing your own time effectively to maintain tight programme timescales
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Strong engineering background
Experience of system and software application design and architecture principles
Understands modelling techniques and tools (UML, Enterprise Architect, XML/XSD)
Experience of requirements analysis, elaboration and management tools (Rational DOORS)
Experience of using configuration and version control tools (Rational ClearCase, Git)
HNC/HND in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
Desirable:
Experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL, etc.)
Experience of software application builds and deployment

The Systems Design Team:
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within the fast-paced Systems Design Team, for a Software Supplier Manager. As the Future Engineering Sub-System (FESS), Systems Design Supplier Manager, you will be the main point of contact between the ESS team and our external software suppliers. You will be working within the Systems Design team, managing the software design activities of the software suppliers to ensure it meets customers' requirements and standards. You will be working to improve efficiency and quality of the FESS to allow optimal operation and providing feedback as early as possible to the team leader. The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyse, solve and communicate complex technical problems and solutions. A self-starter with a collaborative, creative and agile approach, with a passion for innovation and problem solving, and a logical and analytical approach to their work. This is a UK based role where you will work closely with the ESS Systems Integration test, Software development, Hardware and Operations teams.
