Fund Accountant

Working from our New York City headquarters, the investment/fund accountant will support all day-to-day matters relating to multiple funds and separately managed accounts, including:Reconcile cash positionsResearch and resolve discrepanciesProcess trades and other end -of-day proceduresReview currency hedgesCalculate monthly performanceCompile monthly reportsPerform turnover calculationsAssist with information for marketing presentations, RFPs, and DDQsRespond to specific client requestsWork on long-term projects within the group and Firm-wide to improve efficiencyWork on cross-department projects with other colleagues within the FirmIdeal Experience:Demonstrable work experience in a similar investment/fund accounting role at an asset management firmKnowledge of asset management, RIAs, and fixed income financial productsPublic Debt funds (UCITS and 40 Act)Knowledge of and experience with bank loans and derivatives a plusStrong proficiency in ExcelBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceOther Personal Characteristics:Quick study – able to handle complex matters with multiple initiatives going on simultaneouslyHigh energy and self-starter – highly motivated and an independent person who is self-confidentCollaborator – likes to work in a non-hierarchical, team-oriented environmentStrong attention to detail, but understands the bigger pictureHigh level of accountability and the ability to prioritize effectivelyBright individual with the ability to combine analytics with judgment and common senseAdaptable mindset – likes to help in making processes better and more efficient and be an agent of changeSalary Range: $90,000/yr - $120,000/yrMuzinich is an independent investment management firm which specializes in managing public and private corporate credit.
