Job DescriptionFunctional Safety Position within Tier One R&D Hub.The Company:This is a long-established automotive company, with a global workforce of over 20,000. The position is situated within an expanding research and development hub dedicated to vehicle electrification. Exciting projects are on the horizon, making it an opportune time to join!The Role:As a key player in the functional safety domain, you will contribute to multiple next-generation products for vehicles worldwide. The role offers a diverse range of functional safety tasks spanning every stage of the product life cycle. Joining a dynamic team of three, you'll have an excellent opportunity to learn and broaden your exposure to functional safety topics.Your Day-to-Day:Support the delivery of the ISO26262 process to vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers, covering all safety lifecycle aspects.Assist in work package planning and management.Support updates to functional safety concepts, technical safety concepts, system design specifications, hardware and software requirements, and test definition activities.Manage/support verification reviews of safety work products (e.g., FMEDA, HW Metrics).Apply safety analysis methods (e.g., FMEA, FTA, DFA) with exposure to various processes, methodologies, and stakeholder objectives.Support hazards identification, risk assessment, and classification for new product lines.Assist in system and element-level safety requirements capture, management, and technical review.Inform system-level architectural design and participate in technical reviews.Support product integration and solutions into customer functional safety concepts, interfacing directly with customers and representing their interests internally.Contribute to formal gap analyses between SEooC BMS and customers’ safety requirements.Liaise with other sites (in Central Europe), coordinating closely with system design teams and component designers, and providing functional safety support.Ensure consistency between SW/HW Safety Requirements, Hardware-Software-Interface (HSI), SW/HW Architecture, and Technical Safety Concept or System Architectural Design Specification.Support safety case preparation, including safety arguments.Utilize a document management system (e.g., SVN) for safety work product (documentation) version control.Your Experience:Demonstrable experience in an automotive or similar engineering environment, with a focus on the delivery of safety systems/components.Experience in conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FTA, DFA), supporting requirements specification and/or verification.Confidence in reading hardware component schematics and Simulink models, and understanding component electrical interfaces.Experience in system (component) functional specification.Experience in work package planning and delivery.Self-motivated and keen to be involved at all stages of development.Apply today for further details.
