The Business:

Working exclusively in partnership with Seymour John, Nidec Drives (aka Control Techniques) are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and effective Finance Business Partner to the Manufacturing Operations at Unit 79 in Newtown. Unit 79 is a large-scale manufacturing facility producing in excess of $160m of product for the European customer base. It’s the largest factory within the global group making this a highly visible role and opportunity to make your mark within the Nidec family.

We would like you to be on site 3 days per week or more in order to build and leverage great working relationship with your colleagues and team.

People Development: We love to develop people at Nidec and as well as wanting to add value to your career, we want you to develop your four team members (split between Newtown and Romania) so the people and FP&A Team overall are growing their contribution and value all the time. You’ll mange the Senior Cost Accountant and Finance Apprentice locally and two Financial Analysts in Romania.

Business Partnering is a really key area for this role. You will Lead the Bottom-Line Profitability Programme to achieve agreed targets working with your colleagues in Manufacturing Operations to assess the business impact of ideas and investments which improve profitability. This means proactively spending time with colleagues to understand their ideas, objectives and help them to assess viability and build a credible business case for viable ideas where spend is required.

Financial Planning & Analysis: maintain the rolling 12-month financial forecast continuously with the latest intelligence and analysis. This requires working closely with the Operations, Finance and Sales Team to evaluate and provide timely and accurate forecasts on the expected future performance of the business. You will also work closely with the neighbouring Group FP&A function translating what’s going on in Manufacturing Operations in finance language and delivering high quality corporate financial performance reporting.

Who are we looking for?

* Probably a qualified accountant ACMA, ACCA, ACA, but open to people with the right blend of intellect, experience and personal characteristics.

* You like to be empowered and take ownership of situations. You can lead meetings and drive value for the business and your colleagues from your conversations.

* You are genuinely collaborative and curious to understand other people’s opinions an problems.

* You’ve learned how to manage, coach and develop, and motivate other people.

* 5+ Years Financial Planning experience in a large organisation.

* Excellent skills in Excel, and analysing and data handling.

* Experience of reporting of financial data within tight deadlines

* Highly organised with extremely efficient planning of own and team’s workload

* Excellent written and oral communication skills to all levels
