Backed by Y Combinator, we’re starting with using AI to help attorneys write patents.
Our product is an in-browser document editor. It works just like Google Docs but, under the hood, is powered by an AI copilot to help the attorney write high-quality patents efficiently.
Three months since our launch, we’ve raised $3M from Silicon Valley’s leading investors and generated significant annual recurring revenue. Attorneys across the US, Europe, Asia, and South America are reporting 60-90% patent drafting efficiency improvements. One customer was so impressed with our product that they invested in our seed round.
What’s most exciting is that we’re only just getting started. We’re shipping new features, updates, and improvements every week. Just in the last month, the performance of our product has improved 10x. And this progress is accelerating.
Demand for Solve Intelligence has exceeded our expectations and outpaced our bandwidth to build the product. Our founding full-stack engineer will help accelerate our operation to build state-of-the-art generative AI products for intellectual property.

????️ About the role
We are looking for a super-talented founding full-stack engineer to work on developing and maintaining both the front- and back-end components of our product.
You’ll be responsible for:
Building the foundations of Solve Intelligence. You’ll be building the core, scalable foundations of our backend for a huge market - from the ground up. This isn’t a task to be taken lightly, and we’re excited to partner with someone who is eager to dive headfirst into this opportunity.
Developing our user interface. Building state-of-the-art AI systems is one thing. But without a clean, intuitive, human-centric user interface, it won’t be adopted. You’ll be helping us plan, build, and iterate on our front-end UI.
Planning the product roadmap based on customer feedback. Everything we do at Solve Intelligence is based on customer feedback. You’ll need to help us extract insights from customer meetings to determine what we need to build to find product-market fit as quickly as possible.
Assembling a world-class engineering team. You’ll partner with our founding team to build, scale, and set the culture of our engineering team. You’ll help with hiring, onboarding, and leading a team.
???? Who you’ll work with
Sanj (Chief Research Officer and co-founder): Sanj did his MSci in Physics at the University of Cambridge and his PhD in AI at the Gatsby Unit, UCL. He won awards at top AI conferences, worked on the R&D team at Huawei, and received widespread attention for his contributions to open-source LLM GitHub projects. He joined Magic Carpet AI as employee #4, where he developed AI strategies for trading which deployed millions of capital before being acquired by Blockchain.com.
Angus (Chief Technology Officer and co-founder): Angus did an MEng in Computer Science at the University of Bristol where he won a cyber security scholarship at GCHQ before working at Qualcomm. He then joined a London-based hedge fund, Coremont (Brevan Howard). There, he led a small team to build a greenfield trade processing platform which scaled to millions of trades per day.
Chris (Chief Executive Officer and co-founder): Chris did his undergrad at Imperial College, masters at the University of Cambridge, and PhD at UCL, during which he achieved 10+ publications and awards in top AI conferences and journals. He has worked in leading tech organisations, including Dyson, The Alan Turing Institute, and InstaDeep before its acquisition by BioNTech.

????️ What you bring
As our founding full-stack engineer, you will have extensive experience building software to solve impressively difficult problems through past projects, designs, or GitHub contributions.
Must haves:
Expert in Python.
Experience with databases (Postgres).
Familiarity with front-end and back-end development and full-stack frameworks.
Preferred haves:
Experience with Web Development (Typescript/React).
Experience building and scaling commercial software.
Nice to haves:
Experience working with WYSIWYG HTML document editor APIs (e.g. TinyMCE, CKEditor 5).
Experience with AWS DevOps tooling.
IT security awareness.
Experience with AI.
???? What we offer
Base salary between $110-150K; depending on qualification and experience.
0.5-1.5% equity; we want you to take ownership in Solve Intelligence and share in the success that lies ahead.
