Fostering Supervising Social Worker

Somerset County Council are looking to expand their current team. The Fostering team is looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join a well-structured and organised team. This Fostering Supervising Social Worker role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Fostering Supervising Social Worker Responsibilities Include:

  • The responsibility of the Children's Services Function is to promote and ensure the safety, well[1]being and learning of children and young people. Within the service, Children and Young
  • To receive request/referrals for foster placements.
  • Work closely with the PVI Placement Officer to identify suitable placements for children and young people.
  • Provide Foster Carers with all appropriate information (as per Fost regs and NMS) to make an informed decision about taking a placement.
  • Quality assure placement referrals to ensure that all relevant information is received to enable an informed and child centred placement search to take place.
  • Liaise with child's SW in respect of any updates amendments to be made.
  • People's Social Care Teams provide services to "Children in Need" including children with disabilities, children subject to Child Protection Plans, Children "Look After" and Care Leavers.
  • These roles operate in close collaboration with multi-agency partnerships
  • Qualified Social Workers will work in accordance with professional standards (as set by the HCPC or other relevant accredited body) and will provide statutory services for children looked after and placed for adoption.
  • Qualified Social Workers will provide case responsibility for foster carers, adopters, children/adults who have been adopted, and prospective foster carers/adopters. role will be hybrid , monthly in person team meet, visits in south somerset area.

Requirements / Experience preferred:

  • HCPC Registration
  • 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
