Overview
Everest People Solutions are recruiting a Food Safety and Quality Manager to join a large food manufacturer based in Bedfordshire. This role entails managing Technical Team. As the successful candidate for the role, you will join the Senior Management Team, ensuring adherence to customer requirements, certification standards, and legal regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Food Safety and Quality Manager
charge of and upholding the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems across the site.
all site departments in meeting customer, certification bodies, and legal standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensuring site compliance to both the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Group as necessary.
with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and other regulatory bodies when needed to ensure smooth business operations.
customer relations and handling requests, inquiries, and complaints with care.
root cause analyses and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions for any identified non-conformities from customers, regulatory bodies, or internal audits.
and refining company policies, systems, and procedures to align with customer requirements, certification standards, legislation, company goals, and industry standards.
assessing and reporting on cost-effectiveness and identifying cost-saving measures within the Technical, Hygiene, and Stores departments without compromising product safety, quality, or compliance.
that staff receive appropriate training, including refresher courses, pertinent to their roles and responsibilities within the Technical, Hygiene, Stores, and Welfare domains.
Requirements for the Food Safety and Quality Manager
Prior Technical Management expertise is beneficial.
Experience in a Technical role, ideally within the meat sector, is essential.
A science-oriented degree or equivalent training and experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a results-driven approach and effective people management capabilities.
Exceptional organizational skills are required, along with the ability to efficiently plan workloads to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
