Food Production Manager

Major Recruitment are currently looking for an Experienced Production Manager to join our lovely forward thinking client based in Norwich to take the business through its next massive growth phase.

Role and Responsibilities

The Production Manager position is a shift-based role and the selected candidate will be responsible for executing the production plan and supporting the operation.

Managing the shift team (12-17 people)
Developing and deploy site specific strategies to drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement across the production line.
Creating and communicating a clear vision for the future, inspiring and driving the production team to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives.
Responsible for production, overall shift operational systems improvement by modelling and supporting a continuous improvement culture within the team.
Implementing strategies for growth, set stretching but achievable targets and monitoring performance.
Quickly assess the nature of any breakdowns and act accordingly

Requirements

At least 5 years shift management experience in facilities with highly automated production processes in place.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants: understanding of USDA/FDA as well as HACCP, GMP's ISO, SOP's AIB
Able to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, inclusive of root cause analysis, 5s and basic practical solving.
Strong coaching experience and knowledge of leadership development
Strong Project management experience
