Urban Water - Drainage and Flood Risk Engineer
Urban Water are leading experts in drainage design, flood risk assessment, and climate change adaptation. Recognising the importance of addressing climate change, we integrate green infrastructure designs to safeguard communities. We are skilled in designing sustainable Drainage Designs, Foul and Surface Water drainage designs, and developing Hydraulic River Modelling.
A key element of the role will be undertaking foul and surface water drainage strategies in conjunction with preparing Flood Risk Assessments. A good understanding of drainage design and hydraulic modelling is important for this role. An understanding of the design process from inception to construction of drainage and flood alleviation schemes will be critical in discharging your duties in this role.
We are a small but growing company based in Oxford with a varied client base throughout England.

The Role:
As a Flood Risk/Drainage Design Engineer you will work with a range of clients ranging from housing developments to national scale projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Prepare Flood Risk Assessments
Preparation of foul and surface water drainage strategies
Produce conceptual design of flood protection measures
Produce fee proposals
Liaise with associate staff, check drawings, and issue reports to clients
This could involve your development and/or checking of Drainage Strategies, Flood Risk Assessments, the production or checking of design calculations, scheme details, and drawings.
You:
The role will be suited to an existing Flood Risk/Drainage Design Engineer who is looking to get support and development in their career.
Ideally you will have a degree in Civil Engineering or related science and interested in progressing towards Chartership. Well versed in the preparation of drawings for Flood Risk Assessments for flood zones 1,2 and 3. Have experience in Drainage Strategies and SuDs. Be experienced in Surface Water Drainage Strategies. Have an excellent understanding and working understanding of Flow and Microdrainage software packages. Good working knowledge of AutoCAD OR Civils 3D. Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions is most crucial to your success in this role.
