Department Overview:

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player, at the front of the market, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

The role is Trader Repo desk in London for Global Securities Finance (GSF). You will join the existing team of 4 traders locally, and X traders regionally. You will help drive the strategy and vision of the desk, working closely with global financial markets sales. You will help grow and build upon the strong and existing franchise.


Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
• Trade the DM/EM Repo as well as securities lending book.
• Trade the daily flow, including hedging strategies/ STIR, funding and collateral management.
• Align with the credit risk, market risk, balance sheet and regulatory requirements, in London.
• Collaborate with the Financial Markets global sales teams.
• Work closely with key internal stakeholders to help develop electronic platform trading.
• Co-ordinate and liaise with existing client franchise.
• Execute key analyses.
• Performs continuing risk review.
• Analyses potential trading opportunities and structures across various currencies.
• Evaluates financial products.
• Examines external trends and market information.
• Evaluates regulatory impact and planning for changes.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications / Education:

Essential:

• Master’s degree (finance, commercial engineer, economics, statistics, computer science) or equivalent through experience.


Experience / Knowledge:

Essential:
• 1 year plus experience in Repo trading securities finance
• Ability to use own judgement with a significant financial impact in situations of time pressure
• Demonstrate alertness and ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions and volatility.

Desirable:
• Quantitively minded.
• Python
• Knowledge of pricing methods / risk analysis
• Knowledge of Repo trading and rates products
