Job Description Job Title:Fixed Asset Accountant Salary: Competitive Location: Leicester - Enderby, Next Head Office Summary of Role This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic Commercial Finance team on a Fixed Term Contract. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the accounting for the businesses fixed assets and capital expenditure, this will include maintaining and monitoring of the fixed asset registers, balance sheet reconciliations, supporting budgeting and forecasting relating to capex and monthly reporting.The role will also involve working with the wider business to support capex projects, ensuring relevant approvals and controls are in place, along with project reporting. Working with people across the business from Directors, estates managers and project managers this role will suit candidates who are comfortable working outside of the finance function.Our Commercial Finance team is responsible for delivering finance support to key stakeholders across the business, your main areas of responsibility are: Ensure accurate asset capitalisation and classification in accordance with company policyParticipate in the accurate month-end process for fixed assets including journal entries, adjustments and account reconciliationsResponsible for the budgeting and forecast process as its relates to capital expenditures and depreciationMonitor and report on fixed asset activity as compared to budget and forecast, including project tracking and reportingResponsible for the execution of the Company’s internal controls over fixed asset process in accordance with company policyPerform any other special duties, projects or analyses as directed by the companyAlongside these areas of responsibility there are other key attributes we are looking for: CIMA/ACCA/ACA,Qualified/Part-QualifiedIT literate - Demonstrate Strong Excel skills, understanding and experience of accounting packages (Essential), power BI and presentations (preferable)Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex information clearlyExcellent planning and organisational skills to ensure delivery of work to timescales and the ability to prioritise own workload.Self-motivated and determined to drive for continuous improvement About Us You know Next, but did you know we’re a FTSE-100 retail company employing over 35,000 people across the UK and Ireland.
