Firewall / Network Engineer

Overview:
Due to a client requirement we need a Network Engineer with experience in Security and Firewalls.
The role will
home based, will occasional travel to data center’s or client site in South Yorkshire, and has been deemed inside of IR35.
The objective of this role is to work within a Network Team providing support services to our internal and external international data and voice networks. The role would suit an enthusiastic experienced network / firewall engineer ideally with CCNA accreditation and ability to maintain and deliver
Responsibilities:

Day to day 2nd and 3rd line support of client estate in-line with required SLA and priority response.

Day to day support of our local networks and that of our external customers.
·
Day to day support of our voice infrastructures.
·
Create and maintain accurate records of installations and designs.
·
Identify service inadequacies contribute to service improvement activities.
·
Interface with 3rd party suppliers and vendors at a technical level.
·
Working on long term problem queues along with support calls.
·
Engagement with project delivery teams for advisory or engagement tasks.
·
Support of mission critical systems.
·
Maintain an understanding of current and emerging telecommunication and network technologies.
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
§
ExperienceofJuniper / Checkpoint/ Forcepoint
§
Experience in an IT Infrastructure environment (Networks, Server, Storage, Desktop)
§
Experience in a similar environment supporting over 2000 users and 500 servers.
§
Cisco Certified Network Associate Accreditation (CCNA)
§
Experience of network design, operation and support and have a good understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models
§
Good understanding of the fundamentals of data networking. Demonstrable understanding of networking products, specifically Cisco.
§
Experience of working within a large international company.
§
Knowledge of LINUX and Cisco voice platforms a bonus.
