Job: Mobile Fire & Security Technician

Salary: �36,627

Location: Sheffield

Randstad C&P are working with a leading facilities management company, to on board a Fire and Security Engineer. As part of this mobile role, you will be responsible for conducting work within commercial sites in the South Yorkshire area. The position is full-time and permanent, with core working hours scheduled from Monday to Friday, totalling 42.5 hours per week.

Job Purpose:

As the designated technical specialist for assigned sites, your main responsibility is to provide first-call response and technical expertise for various systems, including Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA, and Automatic Pedestrian Gates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform maintenance and repairs in line with customer-defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), covering response, repair, first fix, and closure tasks.
  2. Ensure that all planned, reactive, and statutory works related to CCTV engineering are carried out in compliance with contractual obligations.
  3. Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks within agreed time frames, diligently handling all required documentation.
  4. Respond promptly to service call requests from the Help desk during regular hours and while on call. For after-hours support, refer cases to the designated specialist in the first instance.
  5. Identify irreparable equipment faults and propose appropriate corrective courses of action.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire detection, alarm systems, and security equipment. Knowledge of various fire and security system manufacturers and models is advantageous.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as FIA (Fire Industry Association), BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment), or NSI (National Security Inspectorate) certification is highly desirable.
  • A relevant engineering or technical qualification in fire and security systems or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with retail buildings or commercial properties is beneficial, with a track record of providing high-quality service and maintaining excellent client relationships.
