Hourly Rate: £47.41 PAYE or £62.56 UMBRELLA
Location: Barrow-In-Furness (with flexible working options)

Role Overview:
As a Principal Fire & Explosion Safety Engineer, you'll be integral to the Fire & Explosion Safety team, supporting the Engineering Manager. Your work will focus on developing safety solutions for submarine design programmes and new building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Explosion Safety Engineering risk assessments and compliance activities.
Mentor and develop team engineers.
Monitor and report key performance indicators for Explosion Safety.
Develop and maintain process documentation and management strategies.
Produce and review explosion strategies and risk assessments.
Support commissioning strategies for explosion safety systems.
Prepare proposals for work packages.
Review engineering documentation relevant to Explosion Safety.
Support regulatory inspections.
Chair explosion safety workshops and working groups.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in explosion safety engineering and hazard analysis.
COMAH (Safety Case support) experience.
Site Asset Protection experience.
Fire Safety Engineering experience.
Skills in DSEAR risk assessment, Hazardous Area Classification (HAC), and business process implementation.
