RLB offers a range of Building Consultancy services one of which is Fire Consultancy. Our fire consultants proactively manage and undertake surveys, formulate designs and specification, provide fire strategies, plus other bespoke services to ensure our client’s estates remain well maintained and achieve their potential in terms of fire safety management. We provide inception to completion services throughout the life cycle of built assets including; fire strategies, retrospective fire strategies, clerk of works, design review, fire integrity surveys, remedial works specification and project and programme management. We pride ourselves on the quality of the service we provide to our clients and aim to enjoy long term working relationships.Within out Fire Safety team, we have an experienced group of people experienced in the delivery of a wide range of fire safety services. In addition to the service we deliver directly to our clients the team provides support to the wider business both regionally and nationally on all things fire safety.Due to a prolonged period of increased demand we have upskilled our internal team to support this service. We are now at the stage where we need to recruit additional fulltime team member to support the service. We are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Data Centre, Residential, Education, Healthcare and Retail clients and projects. Surveyors work in close contact with the client, advising them on financial and legal matters that arise during the project.Overview of Role:We are currently recruiting for a Fire Consultant/Fire Risk Assessor, to join a client focused team within our London office.This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our team. The role will be an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing fire consultancy services from within our existing team. Key Responsibilities:To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and proceduresto undertake new Fire Risk AssessmentsComply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategiesTake personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, safety, Security and Quality Standards.To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstancesProfessional Skills:To undertake fire risk assessments across a variety of property types ranging from residential, healthcare, custodial, education and commercialTo undertake fire integrity / compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and designTo provide quality & technical monitoring on construction projectsTo provide fire safety advisor role to assist our clients with their property portfolioIdeally have good understanding of Approved Document B, Health Technical Memorandum 05-02, Building Bulletins, relevant British StandardsTo review contractors’ proposals on construction projects and provide comment on suitability for the intended purposePerson Specification:The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results. They will be passionate about fire safety and will strive to provide the upmost quality on every commission.CPFA E-Dip TC / BEng FPA / IFE Level 4 (non-engineered)Professional membership (IFE/IFSM) Technical/MemberExperience of undertaking Fire Risk AssessmentsKnowledge of UK fire safety legislationStrong technical delivery experienceAbility to successfully manage projects in a proactive and diligent mannerPreferably experience in management of projects from inception to completionClient facing, ensuring high standards of technical deliveryAble to build long-term relationshipsA track record of working with teams and prioritising workloads and delivering deadlinesDBS check will be required for this roleAt RLB, our aim is to create and enhance an inclusive workplace culture where diversity is not only accepted but valued and built into our culture, creating opportunity for all.
