It works closely with Overseas Accountants and are responsible for all financial accounting and reporting for the EMEA business including but not limited to month end close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and statutory and compliance filings (VAT, Financial Statements, and so on).The RoleJoining an established finance team of based in the European Head Office in London, the Financial Reporting Accountant will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting and will work alongside the Finance Team, external advisors, auditors and the wider business as required.The ResponsibilitiesMonth end - GAAP• Completing monthly close to global deadlines including preparation and posting of month-end journals• Preparation / review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including timely resolution of differences.• Preparation / review and settlement of intercompany invoicesMonthly local statutory accounts, fiscal and compliance• Take responsibility for the preparation of various UK (and potentially non-UK) statutory accounts, entities will include a mix of LLPs, Limited and Holding companies• Support Manager Group Audit and Reporting on the UK Group audit ensuring resulting in a timely completion and filing• Partner with other team members to ensure consistency of process, approach and accounting treatments are adopted across all entities as appropriate• Assist with the preparation of the UK group financial statements.• On a monthly basis review and reconcile local GAAP / management accounts, understand differences and where appropriate make adjustments to GAAP and/or local books• Build strong external relationships with the wider A&M business, also external advisors, including auditors and local accountants• Where relevant, prepare monthly data pack for local accountants and share to agreed timelines.Other• Lead the preparation and review of VAT return (s) and support on VAT compliance matters as required.• Support the preparation of other fiscal returns e.g. Corporation Tax, PSA, Statistical Returns etc• Support and partner with the wider Finance Team; Accounts Payable, Billing, Treasury and Payroll• Liaising with Accounts Payable and Billing Teams to ensure that costs are correctly allocated to each business unit• Patner with the Tax team to ensure CIT returns, withholding tax and transfer pricing obligations are met• Assist on ad-hoc projects as required• Support the development and mentoring of junior team members• Ensuring a robust control environment is operated and maintainedThe requirements• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with 3-5 years PQE experience in industry ideally also with a background in audit/practice in a top tier firm• Previous experience operating in an international multi-site business with exposure to FX transactions• Experience of overseeing the preparation of local GAAP financial statements, in addition to group financial statements in accordance with FRS 102• Experience in VAT preparation, review and submission• Strong technical knowledge• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel• Consolidation experience is advantageous• Professional services industry experience is desirable• Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines, results orientated and "can do" attitude• A natural team player who can interact easily with your colleagues and have strong communication skills• A&M is an organization where a hands-on approach is adopted by all - candidates should understand that this is a hands-on role and should be prepared to get involved in the transactional side of accountancy to resolve issues and assist in the development of staffWhat can we offer you?• Competitive salary plus bonus and benefits including 25 days holiday, private medical, dental insurance and the opportunity to travel aboard to our oversea offices• Career development: A&M expects high performance and rewards individual contributions to the team's success• The opportunity to work for a dynamic global organization and deal with the complexities of a pan-European business
