My Client is a dynamic agricultural business. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Manager
to join their team and play a pivotal role in the financial management and strategic planning of the organization.
Job Purpose:
As the Financial Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and compliance of
Operations
in the Western Cape. Your role will encompass meticulous financial planning, accurate reporting, and effective
leadership to contribute to the overall success and growth of the company. By overseeing budgeting, audits, and day-to-day financial operations, you will play a crucial part in shaping and executing their financial strategy.
Key Accountability Areas
1. Annual Budget Preparation
2. Annual External Audit File Preparation
3. Month-end Processes
– Ensure completion by the 15th of each month.
– Oversee journals, balance sheet reconciliations, asset register, etc.
– Verify accuracy and completeness of financial records.
4. Tax and VAT Submissions
5. Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting
– Prepare monthly management accounts by the 15th of each month.
– Forecast income, CAPEX, OPEX, etc.
– Conduct deep analysis on specific cost/revenue items.
– Generate ad-hoc reports as required.
6. Financial Management & Operational Support
– Proactively manage Suppliers and Customer accounts
– Collaborate with treasury for weekly cashflow management.
– Oversee asset management for buildings, infrastructure, equipment and vehicles.
7. Team Leadership
– Line management of Bookkeepers & financial assistants.
– Delegate selected financial & administration functions to staff.
– Provide operational and financial support to all production team members, fostering peer communication.
Qualifications and Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
– 5 years post-article experience.
– Professional qualification and completed articles (CA/CIMA/PA) will be beneficial.
– Proven experience in financial management.
– Potential for leadership roles.
– Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
– Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
