We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller for a client in Hertfordshire.

As the Financial Controller you oversee day-to-day financial operations across the group.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

* Preparation of monthly financial reports and support for year-end close processes.

* Assisting in compliance audits and monitoring internal controls.

* Producing monthly management accounts and departmental P&L statements.

* Participating in financial standards setting and forecasting processes.

* Collaborating with colleagues sharing knowledge and best practices.

* Overseeing account reconciliations and exchange rate conversions.

* Managing internal asset audits and ensuring accurate asset and facility management.

* Handling payroll processing and filing of PAYE and end-of-year returns.

* Filing CAT returns to HMRC and annual returns to Companies House.

* Ensuring accuracy and currency of insurance policies and handling insurance claims.

* Attending training courses and meetings as required.

* Managing escalated queries from customers and suppliers.

* Overseeing preparation of quarterly VAT returns.

About you:

* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA).

* Minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience as a Financial Controller.

* High level of accuracy and strong analytical skills.

* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and tax regulations.

* Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

* Team player with a hands-on and flexible approach.

* Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

* Advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage 200.
