Blair West are supporting Advanced with the search to appoint a Financial Controller in the North East.

Following an acquisition in 2014, Advanced became part of FTSE 100-listed Halma Plc. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Director and lead a small team of five.
The opportunity:
Leading a team of 5 people to deliver accurate financial information and providing financial counsel and support across the organisation.
Develop the finance team to ensure it becomes a higher-performing team.
Delivery of weekly, monthly and annual statutory financial reporting.
Assist in the preparation of the company budgets and strategic plans on an annual basis.
Ensuring robust financial controls are in place across all businesses to maintain the financial integrity and control of the operation.
Share best practices and build relationships across the wider Halma organisation.
Work with operational and other functional teams to implement process improvements throughout the company.
Help to identify the critical business drivers that are key in developing the business. Consider how evolving technologies and data analytics can be incorporated or added to the current business systems to drive business performance and growth.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
A qualification in accountancy (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with suitable PQE and IFRS/GAAP knowledge.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a “positive can do” attitude.
A questioning and challenging mindset to information and data.
An open-minded and curious mentality with a modern-day approach to systems, technologies and analytics.
The ability to lead and motivate a finance team of five (including both qualified/part-qualified colleagues).
Experience from the manufacturing sector is desirable but not a prerequisite, alongside knowledge of customs, stock, and costs.
Previous experience from working in a group structure with exposure to a listed environment would be advantageous.
