We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller for a client in Hertfordshire.
As the Financial�Controller you oversee day-to-day financial operations across the group.�
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly financial reports and support for year-end close processes.
- Assisting in compliance audits and monitoring internal controls.
- Producing monthly management accounts and departmental P&L statements.
- Participating in financial standards setting and forecasting processes.
- Collaborating with colleagues sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Overseeing account reconciliations and exchange rate conversions.
- Managing internal asset audits and ensuring accurate asset and facility management.
- Handling payroll processing and filing of PAYE and end-of-year returns.
- Filing CAT returns to HMRC and annual returns to Companies House.
- Ensuring accuracy and currency of insurance policies and handling insurance claims.
- Attending training courses and meetings as required.
- Managing escalated queries from customers and suppliers.
- Overseeing preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
About you:
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA).
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience as a Financial Controller.
- High level of accuracy and strong analytical skills.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and tax regulations.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player with a hands-on and flexible approach.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage 200.
