We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller for a client in Hertfordshire.





As the Financial�Controller you oversee day-to-day financial operations across the group.�





Day to day responsibilities will include:




  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and support for year-end close processes.

  • Assisting in compliance audits and monitoring internal controls.

  • Producing monthly management accounts and departmental P&L statements.

  • Participating in financial standards setting and forecasting processes.

  • Collaborating with colleagues sharing knowledge and best practices.

  • Overseeing account reconciliations and exchange rate conversions.

  • Managing internal asset audits and ensuring accurate asset and facility management.

  • Handling payroll processing and filing of PAYE and end-of-year returns.

  • Filing CAT returns to HMRC and annual returns to Companies House.

  • Ensuring accuracy and currency of insurance policies and handling insurance claims.

  • Attending training courses and meetings as required.

  • Managing escalated queries from customers and suppliers.

  • Overseeing preparation of quarterly VAT returns.





About you:




  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA).

  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience as a Financial Controller.

  • High level of accuracy and strong analytical skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and tax regulations.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Team player with a hands-on and flexible approach.

  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage 200.
