Financial Controller

Job DescriptionBroster Buchanan is supporting a high growth Plc to recruit a Financial Controller into their UK Head Office team, based in Leeds.Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a senior role and forms a key part of the Head Office leadership team and will provide exposure to stakeholders across the business. With responsibility for a small, but high calibre team, your role will include:Key responsibilitiesProduction of monthly and annual financial accountsCreating the Group quarterly reporting packContinual review of processes and controls, recommending and implementing improvements where necessaryPlanning for the year end audit report and quarterly reportingImplementing any accountancy policy changesManaging the statutory requirements of all group entitiesLiaising with external auditors and any other external advisors as requiredMaintain a detailed cashflow forecastMaintenance of the fixed asset register and depreciation schedulesReview of capital expenditureWork closely with transaction processing to ensure appropriate management of ledger balances with a particular focus on the ageing of the ledgersReconciliation management, ensuring timely completion and resolution of any issues, ensuring there are no ‘surprises’VAT compliance for all group entitiesOversight and sign off on payrollAd hoc project workRequirementsFully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMAWorking knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRSAn eye for detail and an ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of dataFull understanding of UK corporate entity statutory requirements and UK VAT legislationLeadership experience and sophisticated communication skills
