Job DescriptionWe are excited to be recruiting for a Financial Controller to oversee all accounting functions of Countrywide Surveying Services, ensuring that all accounting records are appropriately kept and reported results comply with accounting standards and legislation.This role will be based at our Chelmsford office.You will be tasked to:Coordinate and manage the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. Ensure that the finance team operates within a robust control environment and be the go-to contact for external auditors.Contribute to the financial strategy of the business and be pivotal in the development of all internal control policies and procedures.Responsibilities:Manage all day-to-day accounting operations for Countrywide Surveying Services.Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasting.Prepare and report monthly financial statements and management accounts, including commentary, trends and forecasts.Ensure all transactions are recorded and reported properly, and all reporting complies with statutory law and financial regulations.Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain strong internal controls and manage risk.Streamline and improve operations and accounting systems.Coordinate the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection.Support the business with the financial strategy and data to drive strategic and operational decision-making.Supervise and manage the Countrywide Surveying Services finance team promoting team motivation and development, with a focus on continuous improvement.Develop a strong relationship with key stakeholders within the business and the wider group.Oversee the audit process and liaise with external auditors.Deputise for the Finance Director where required.The ideal candidate will have:Five or more years financial and management accounting experienceProfessional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skillsCorporate and business reportingFinancial managementGovernance, risk and controlLeadership and managementManagement and accountingStrategy and innovationConnells Group UK is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, transgender status, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
