JOB TITLE: Financial ControllerSITE LOCATION: Swish Building Products - Building Components Division, Tamworth, StaffordshireREPORTS TO: Divisional Finance Director - Building Components DivisionHOURS OF WORK: 08:30 - 17:00 Monday through FridayJob Purpose:As Financial Controller at Swish Building Products,you will be the senior financial lead on site, responsible for all aspects of the Finance function and administration for a business with revenues of c.£60m based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Swish Building Products is part of the AIM listed Epwin Group Plc, the leading manufacturer of low maintenance building products.This role will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, cost-centre creation and day to day management of staff, as well as maintaining a strong control environment.Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, you will be an integral part of the Senior Management Leadership Team on site, working with the management team to implement and drive the business strategy, improve profitability and working capital management, and ensure policies, procedures and processes are adhered to.Key Accountabilities:Work with the Business unit leadership team in the creation of strategic plans, evaluating strategic growth opportunities to increase market share and profitability, challenging budgets and business plans, ensuring that resources are allocated in a prioritised way to maximise operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.Responsibility for the costing and stock system, work with the Business unit in understanding profitability and costing/pricing of products and customer profitability.Work with the Business unit and the Divisional Board to implement and monitor KPI's.Develop and improve forecasting, both P&L and cash flow.To ensure all Divisional/Group reporting timetables are met, and accounting procedures and controls are maintained.Proactively challenge the existing internal control environment to identify weaknesses. Develop and embed effective procedures and controls.To drive the development of business reporting, providing meaningful insight and analysing and reducing the cost base.Proactively working with / supporting Sales and Operations management with data analysis in order to maintain finished goods inventory at the appropriate level to facilitate a high level of OTIF performance, whilst also reviewing and addressing slow moving / obsolete inventory.Supervise the purchase and sales ledger and ensure all payments/receipts are managed correctly with a view to maintaining optimal cash flow.To coach and develop the Finance Team.To work effectively with other Group functions (HR, Property, Fleet management, Group/Divisional Finance) to ensure all deadlines are met, procedures followed, and accurate records are maintained.To maintain a high level of working knowledge of the chosen IT system, offering insight, advice and suggested improvements in IT systems and security.Produce insightful reports for general and departmental management.To prepare/oversee VAT returns each quarter, and be responsible for year-endaccounts for consolidation into the Group accounts and corporation tax packs required for Group reporting.To cover other ad hoc duties in the Finance team as required, including a willingness to travel.Key interfaces:Divisional Finance DirectorDivisional Financial Controller and finance teamDivisional BoardBusiness unit leadership TeamProduction/Operations TeamGroup payroll, Property, Fleet managementAccounts payableCustomers and suppliersDivisional ITGroup FinanceDesirable Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:Excellent relationship builder at all levels, with a hands-on approach and team player.Effective communication and organisational skills.Self-motivated and driven, with a good understanding of business finance requirements.Ability to develop and adapt finance procedures as the business moves through change.Ability to work under pressure to meet month end timetables.Good interpersonal skills as the role will involve dealing with all levels of the business team.Attention to detail, and an eye for opportunity in challenging costs.Ability to make informed, data driven decisions.Manufacturing experience.Experience in Plc/group environments.Commercially minded.Experience of management of auditors.High level excel skills / data manipulation, high level of IT proficiency.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to support, develop and improve the team and able to challenge Senior Management.ACCA, /ACA or CIMA qualified.Personal Attributes:Action orientated - Able to deal with problems in appropriate time frames.Effective communication - Clear concise written, spoken, online, ability to communicate at all levels:, customer, supplier and internal.High Standards - demonstrating a motivation to improve standards and thereby making a real difference, challenging inadequate solutions.Integrity and trust - demonstrating a sense of commitment to openness, honesty, loyalty and high standards in undertaking the role.People management - demonstrating commitment to working and engaging constructively with internal and external stakeholders.Desire to challenge the status quo to identify opportunities.Open, approachable and flexible approach to working habits and environment.
