Position: Financial Controller



Reports to: Company Owner



Salary: Up to �60,000 + bonus



Work Model: Mostly Remote with occasional visits to the Bristol offices

Job Summary: As a Client Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the finance operations for a portfolio clients. Reporting directly to the company owner, you will lead and develop our internal finance team while ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services to their clients. This role involves close collaboration with clients to understand their financial needs, providing strategic financial insights, and guiding them towards profitability and growth.





Key Responsibilities:



Client Financial Operations & Reporting




  • Manage day-to-day financial operations for assigned clients, including invoicing, payroll, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Prepare accruals, prepayments, and other monthly accounting adjustments.

  • Collaborate with clients' department heads to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Provide proactive financial consulting and suggest improvements to processes and systems.

  • Present financial reports to stakeholders and provide insights into financial status and performance.



Internal Control and Processes




  • Establish and maintain financial procedures to ensure the reliability of financial information presented to clients.

  • Ensure scalability of financial systems and processes to support current operations and future growth.

  • Supervise VAT returns, payroll processes, and month-end close.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks across client portfolios.



Other Responsibilities




  • Recruit, mentor, and develop the finance team.

  • Collaborate with outsourced accountants and client accounting teams.

  • Focus on succession planning within the company.

  • Follow company policies and relevant procedures.

  • Proactively build relationships with clients and their teams.

  • Engage, motivate, and challenge team members.

  • Ensure confidentiality of records and information.

  • Undertake appropriate training as required.





Requirements:




  • Fully ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified

  • Proven experience in financial management and leadership roles.

  • Experience working with multiple holding companies

  • Strong understanding and experience in all areas of Financial & Management Accounting, and FP&A

  • Have the confidence to work independently and communicate with senior stakeholders

  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
