Cirencester

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our client, a thriving Technology business in Cirencester, and become an essential part of the team.

The role will be based in their offices near Cirencester 3 days per week, and remote work for 2 days per week.

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following:


  • Overseeing and managing the company's financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.


  • Monitor and analyse financial data, preparing financial reports for management, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Manage financial audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and prevent financial risks.
  • Lead financial planning and provide financial insights and guidance to senior management and contribute to business strategy discussions.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
  • Drive process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy and optimize financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members.

To be considered you will need to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:


  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar leadership role
  • Strong understanding of international accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, translating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software (Sage) and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

If successful you can expect a salary of £65,000, along with Holidays and Pension, and the chance for the role to progress to a Financial Director position too.
