Job Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term Interim Position (12-18 months)

About the Client:

Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority committed to serving the community with excellence, is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Interim Financial Controller to join their finance team and provide crucial support during a transitional period.

Financial Controller – The Role:

As the financial controller you would be overseeing daily financial operations, collaborating on budget development, preparing and submitting timely financial reports, supervising the finance team, and coordinating audits for compliance.

Financial Controller – Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Oversight: Supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance and providing timely reports

- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate on budget development, support the process, and address challenges

- Financial Reporting: Prepare reports, ensure timely submission, and conduct variance analysis

- Team Leadership: Supervise the finance team, fostering a positive environment and providing training

- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate audits, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions

Financial Controller – You:

- Proven Financial Controller experience

- Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting, and budgeting

- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) desirable

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office
