At Pencil we are right on the cutting edge of this revolution and want to ensure we take a leadership position in both the technology and its commercial impact.We’re looking for a Financial Controller who will work with our clients and our marketing, sales, product & finance teams to deliver and optimize our go-to-market strategy. This is an exciting challenge. Clients are insisting on 30-50% reductions in cost and delivery times, meaning we need to operationally deliver even more efficiencies to preserve or grow our margins - as well as translate this positioning into acquisition of more clients to grow topline revenue. Additionally, we need to help our agency partners do this as well.You will need a clear vision for the commercial models that will enable AI to be a positive force in the marketing industry, as well as the optimism, energy and grit to pursue this day-to-day. Doing this successfully will deliver margin and revenue growth for Pencil and our partners, as well as make you one of the leading voices of the GenAI revolution.Working with our (and partner) sales teams to negotiate with new enterprise clientsWorking with marketing and product teams to set SaaS pricing and optimize PLG revenueArchitecting and optimizing our go-to-market strategy together with our executive leadershipWorking with our finance teams to ensure accounts payable & receivable are well operatedOverseeing and presenting both forecasting and financial reporting internally & externallyYour responsibilitiesYour KPIs will be linked to the following:Group partner top line revenue growth and gross marginPencil top line revenue growth and gross marginGeneral company financial health incl. cash managementFeedback from our and partner teams on clarity and effectiveness of our go-to-marketHave 5+ years in corporate finance or commercial teamsExperience with agency financial and commercial operationsExperience with SaaS financial and commercial operations are an advantageExperience with both back-office and client-facing finance or commercial rolesExperience in leadership and collaboration to deliver against a P&LExperience working with marketing, sales, product, legal, finance teamsOpportunity to work at the cutting edge of GenAI for the Fortune 500Sponsored professional and personal learningTop-end Apple hardwareFlexible vacation/time-off policyCompetitive health insurance and welfare coverFully remote work incl.
