On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a No.1 Financial Controller position to work with a growing business based in Oldbury.Duties of the role will include:*Work with Senior Leadership team in the creation of strategic plans, evaluating strategic growth opportunities to increase market share and profitability.*Ownership of annual budget including preparation, implementation and forecasting.*Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making at the executive level.*Actively participate in the development and execution of the company’s business plans, ensuring that resources are allocated in a prioritised way to maximise operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.*Responsibility for job costing and stock management, work with the Managing Director & senior management team in understanding profitability and costing/pricing of products.*Work closely with stakeholders to monitor and analyse project budgets, costs, and profitability.*Implement systems and controls to enhance job costing accuracy and efficiency.*Drive initiatives to improve return on investment and financial performance.*Monitor key financial metrics and implement measures to enhance profitability.*Develop and improve forecasting, both P&L and cash flow.*Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.*Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.*To ensure all Group reporting timetables are met, and accounting procedures and controls are maintained.*Proactively challenge the existing internal control environment to identify weaknesses. Develop and embed effective procedures and controls.*Supervise the purchase and sales ledger and ensure all payments/receipts are managed correctly with a view to maintaining optimal cash flow.*To coach and develop the Finance Teams.*Prepare VAT returns each quarter and be responsible for year-end accounts for consolidation into the Group accounts and corporation tax packs required for Group reporting.*Develop and implement financial strategies for managing holding group structures.*Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize financial performance across subsidiaries.*Work with our Auditors to maintain all records.*Proactively identify and mitigate financial and reputational risks.*Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company’s interests.*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support.*Foster a collaborative and team-oriented culture within the finance department.To be successful as Financial Controller you will have the following skills and attributes:*ACCA, /ACA or CIMA Qualified.*A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role*Experience within a £10-£20m turnover SME*Excellent relationship builder at all levels, with a hands-on approach and team player.*Self-motivated and driven, with a good understanding of business finance requirements.*Commercially focussed with the ability to develop and adapt finance procedures as the business moves through change.*Attention to detail, and an eye for opportunity in challenging costs.*Ability to make informed, data driven decisions.*Strong background in job costing, process optimization, and risk management.*Experience working in holding group structures is highly desirable.*Strategic thinker with the ability to drive financial performance and ROI.*Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills.*Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.*Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.For more information, please get in touch or apply with your CV.Greenwell Gleeson Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.To find out more about how and why Greenwell Gleeson Ltd process your personal data in line with the data protection regime please go to the privacy notice on our website www.greenwellgleeson.co.uk
