Everyone has the opportunity to make a difference.Innovation: Embrace change and encourage innovationJob Summary:CWG's Property Management Services (PMS) business employs c.600 people and is responsible for all operational activities across the Canary Wharf, Wood Wharf and South bank estates with revenues of over £150m. The business comprises:• Commercial building and estate wide services• Residential building services• Tenant services (routine and ad hoc facilities management services)• Provision of utilities and telecoms services.PMS revenue includes over £100m earned under building and estate service charge arrangements with tenants and requires CWG to produce annual budgets and audited reconciliations of actual to budget spend.The Financial Controller role is a critical one to ensure the robust control and understanding of the numbers being reported and the accurate interaction of CWG with multiple tenants across the estate. It will require you to work closely with the Group Financial Controller, Managing Director - Operations, Director - Commercial Finance and other stakeholders including operational budget holders and the procurement team.Salary: £95-105k4 days in office / 1 day WFHMain Responsibilities:1. Overall responsibility for the financial information of the Property Management Services segment ensuring that the information is robust, timely and subject to appropriate internal review.2. Quarterly segment management accounts in accordance with relevant timetables to operational management, group finance, commercial finance and external auditors.3. Implementation and maintenance of appropriate controls and processes to ensure that financial information is reliable and CWG's assets are safeguarded.4. Develop the internal management reporting for the respective parts of the PMS segment to enable improved analysis of business performance.5. Managing three direct reports, being the managers of the commercial and residential property management services team and a financial accountant.6. Work collaboratively with operational management throughout the year to review performance against budget and on setting annual budgets.7. Contribute to finance systems discussions, with a focus on efficiency and automation of key processes. Contribute to the development of a business culture where robust data entry into systems is paramount (i.e. PO's raised, journal coding).8. Delivery of the annual service charge audits within the required timeframe including managing the relationships with the external auditors.9. Preparation of the financial statements for the property management entities in accordance with the group wide financial timetable including managing the relationships with the external auditors.10. Leadership of the wider PMS finance team of 12 including performance management, training and development.11. Perform other finance tasks as required.What We Require of You:1. An ACCA/ACA qualified accountant with significant post qualified experience including a minimum of 4 years industry experience. Experience must have been in a financial control/reporting role.2. Experience of financial close processes in order to meet deadlines and of taking responsibility for financial results. Experience within a divisional finance team and of reporting information to a Group team would be an advantage.3. A self-starter that is prepared to challenge the norm. Needs to have the ability to drive change. Bring energy and passion for what they do.4. Experience of working with operational management in a collaborative way. Able to build and maintain relationships across the organisation with a strong sense of team work. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.5. A leader of people who has demonstrated the ability to lead and develop a team to deliver successful outcomes.6. Proven ability to implement improvements in internal controls and processes including through the use of technology solutions.7. Strong attention to detail and agility to work across a range of areas is critical. Must be able to take ownership of tasks, bear responsibility for work produced.8. Very organised with exceptional time management skills - able to work under pressure, prioritising and meet competing deadlines.9. Experience of service charges and RICS guidance would be an advantage but is not essential.10.
