Financial Controller Manufacturing Reading, Berkshire.
Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller / Plant Controller for a rapidly growing global manufacturing company based in Reading, Berkshire.
The role
The Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:
Oversees the cost control system and prepares costing accounting variance reports for management.
Oversee and implement local standard cost rolls.
Assist in inventory control and developing inventory management procedures such as cycle counting and compliance controls.
Conduct, implement, and audit Fixed Asset Procedures and controls.
Work with the other members of the finance team to complete the monthly accounting close and monthly financial/operational analysis.
Identify and correct control weaknesses, ensuring proper controls are in place in all areas of the plant operation.
Help drive cost reductions through labor and material productivity initiatives. Identify cost reduction opportunities and partner with operations on achieving results.
Provide financial support and analysis to the business on manufacturing issues, such process improvements and outsourced production.
Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and procedures.
Assist global shared service team efforts related accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed (i.e. calling customers/vendors, obtaining remittances, working with sales team to resolve issues)
Provide local support for external and internal audits.
Assist with local capital expenditure analysis.
The successful Financial Controller will have a minimum 7-10 year`s professional experience with at least 5 years in Operational Finance and/or Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment (i.e., plant controller, cost accountant).
You will have the ability
to prepare, analyse and interpret financial and operations analyses/reports.
Ability to assess and communicate the implications, options and resulting initiatives of complex business situations to financial and non-financial managers.
Drive enhanced business performance with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong technical competence in manufacturing financial control and costing.
Understanding of and proficiency in US GAAP, international accounting standards and internal control
