About the role
We're currently searching for a Financial Controller to join our Finance team, comprised of 12 dedicated individuals. This role holds immense significance for our business, as you'll be the go-to person for our CFO, ensuring seamless communication and accurate financial data delivery to our Senior Leadership Team. Your main responsibilities will include overseeing financial reporting, maintaining compliance with financial standards and regulations, and actively contributing to our financial strategy and internal control policies. Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day operations and team management.
Oversee financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis, including the preparation of high-quality board packs and monthly management reports.
Drive accountability for SG&A and cost control initiatives, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Identify and implement process improvements and new systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and implement robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, facilitating audit processes and ensuring timely completion of requirements.
Analyse financial performance, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities, and develop recommendations for operational planning and forecasting targets.
Support and challenge business stakeholders based on financial analysis and insights.
Contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of guidelines, methods, processes, and systems for financial management and control.
You will ideally need the following:
Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with a minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role, with a track record of successfully leading teams and driving results.
Thorough understanding of UK GAAP accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organisation.
Experience in the aviation industry or related field is advantageous but not required
