Role: Finance and Operations Assistant
Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, the Finance and Operations Assistant will assist in managing the financial operations in the business. This role provides critical support across the business - primarily split between Finance and Operations. The purpose of the role is to take ownership of multiple operational tasks, in order to enable the teams around you to deliver their work effectively.
Responsibilities:
Processing supplier payments, bookkeeping, and bank reconciliations for Operational Expenditure using Spendesk and Xero
Own the AR & AP processes and act as the main contact for partner invoicing queries
Drive innovation with smart use of technology and automation to improve our finance operations
Working with the CX team on monthly billing, preparing customer invoices and statements
Assisting with the creation of periodic internal reporting
Balance sheet management and monthly reconciliations
Intercompany transfers/cashflow management as required
Assisting with monthly reconciliation of merchant/affiliate receipts
We want you, if you have:
Prior experience in finance operations, credit control and ideally experience of running and improving financial close processes
Excellent numerical skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions). Familiarity with accounting software (Xero) and expense tools (Spendesk) would be beneficial
Exposure to financial services, rewards industry, or SaaS products
Previous experience in a startup would be beneficial
Ability to work autonomously and with a proactive mindset, and willing to pursue and explore different routes to solving problems
Strong analytical skills - whether demonstrated through academic or professional experience, you’ll be at ease with numbers and enjoy solving problems that present numerically
Great communication skills - able to effectively convey messages to our partners and senior stakeholders within the business
Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and deliverables in a very high pace environment
