Openings: 1Post Date: Jan. 11, 2024 Under the general direction of the Sr. Finance Business Partner or Senior Director, Strategic Finance, or Director, Finance the Financial Analyst - FHC provides support of the daily financial activities of FHC business units. Including conducting financial analysis, budgeting, and planning to facilitate decision making by FHC Finance and BU Leadership.This is an open-rank posting (there are 2 levels of Financial Analysts) - candidates will be hired into the level commensurate with their experience.Essential Functions• Assist in monitoring and analyzing financial accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.• Support the Finance leadership team in providing market and margin analysis, pricing models, and cost development support services.• Analyze financial information using queries, spreadsheets, databases and other reporting tools for trend analysis, forecasting, and financial ratios.• Analyze trends, make financial projections, and assess financial risk.• Produce financial reports for management, as needed or requested, including income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.• Conduct in-depth analysis of program data and performing computations with a high degree of independence.• Collect, extract, analyze, and manage financial information.• Ensure accuracy of reports by reviewing data and resolving discrepancies internally for assigned reports.• Prepare reports and projections based on financial data, consolidating for leadership team.• Create and submit journal entries and reports.• Track and analyze revenue data.• Participate in project meetings related to financial analysis, data analysis, and management.• Support internal dashboards and reporting, including the review of dashboards created by other team members.• Review and support DCS finance group team members as needed.• Review and monitor compliance with the federal and state regulations.Duties noted above plus:Prepare reports and projections based on financial data, consolidating for leadership team, including at the project/contract level.Serve as Finance Business Partner to a line of business within their Business Unit.REQUIRED EDUCATIONBachelors Degree in Finance, accounting, a related field, or equivalent experienceREQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE5 – 7 years of finance related experienceDemonstrated experience/skills in appropriate computer, statistical, or database applicationsDemonstrated ability to write reports, analyze financial documents, journal articles, and/or other technical documentsExcellent communication, both oral and writtenInterpersonal skills necessary to interact successfully with a wide range of individualsProven analytical skills to process large amounts of information to find cost savings methodsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyAbility to recognize potential financial problems, engage in strategic planning and analysis of financial resources, markets, and products, assist management in making sound, profitable financial decisionsDemonstrated experience using computer-based tools including word processing, databases, and advanced experience with Microsoft ExcelPREFERRED EDUCATIONMasters Degree in Finance, accounting, or related fieldCertified Public Account (CPA) or equivalent certification(s)PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE6 – 8 years of experience in health sciences, healthcare, or disability services fields.REQUIRED EDUCATIONBachelors Degree in Finance, accounting, a related field, or equivalent experienceREQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE7 - 9 years of progressively responsible experience in a financial related position.Expertise to acquire, manage and analyze financial documents and results.Ability to work with staff at various levels to ensure effective operations to maintain accurate records and use discretion in handling confidential information.Demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines.Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Microsoft Access and Excel – including modeling, macros, and complex formulas).Ability to produce complex financial models.Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).Experience with pricing models and business proposals.Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.Demonstrated ability to handle details, multi-task and prioritize work.Ability to work in a team environment providing high quality customer service.High level of diplomacy and discretion.PREFERRED EDUCATIONMasters level degree or equivalent.PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE8-10 + years previous financial experience working in healthcare, consulting, academic or insurance industries.UMass Chan Medical School was among 23 companies that stood out as 2023 “DEI champions,” according to The Boston Globe.
