We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and are open to discuss flexible work options to help you balance your work and home life.Working within the Motor Finance division of Close Brothers, this role has a broad remit across financial control, accounting and reporting activities.The role holder will support the Financial Controller, working closely with the rest of the team to prepare monthly management accounts, compile regulatory reports, coordinate loan funding and deliver full and half year end statutory obligations, as well as undertaking reconciliations and other checks to ensure a strong control environment is maintained.The successful candidate will join at an exciting time as we a three year transformation programme which will continue to provide considerable growth opportunities, ensuring that we are well positioned at the point a consumer chooses finance to purchase a vehicle.RESPONSIBILITIESSupport preparation of monthly management accounts, to include closing down the lending system (on rotation), together with full and half year statutory accountsAssist with regulatory reporting including challenging assumptions and verifying data sourcesPreparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliationsContribute to tight financial control over the Balance Sheet and mitigate P&L risksEnsure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVEExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPrevious accounting experience either in practice or industryAmbitious with a drive to improve and progress within a supportive organisation / teamAbility to link business activities to Financial ControlIT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:Knowledge or experience of working within Financial ServicesSAP knowledgeWe are an inclusive organisation and committed to ensuring our recruitment process is as accessible as possible to everyone.
