This is a full-time, permanent role. It is primarily based from our office in Larbert, however there will be opportunity to work remotely from home two days a week. This role provides an excellent opportunity within the UK's largest independent retailer of fuels and lubricants.The role is part of the Financial Reporting team and reports directly to the Head of Financial Reporting. You will have responsibility for all capital expenditure within the Certas Group of companies. You will work closely with key personnel to review and appraise capital expenditure requests and chair a monthly Capital Committee call. The jobholder will maintain the fixed asset registers ensuring all additions are tracked to budget and disposals approved. You will manage all fixed asset reporting including IFRS16 requirements and support ad hoc project work. You will be expected to manage the year end fixed asset reporting and manage the budget and three year planning process.As a constantly growing business, the successful candidate will also get exposure to a number of acquisitions and ad hoc projects to support the business and ensure a smooth migration.Experience desired for the position of Financial Accountant are:Part qualified/Qualified AccountantGood system knowledge including ExcelStrong technical accounting knowledgeCritical thinking skills to interrogate data and processes to improve the control environmentStrong communications skills required to challenge and escalate issues where appropriate.Ability to manage a variety of different projectsIntermediate Excel skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood problem solving skillsAbility to interact with senior managementBenefits also provided by Certas include discount schemes, pension scheme and holiday buy and sell options.
