Financial AccountantJob Summary:Preparation, analysis, submission and commentary on month-end accounts & tax; ensuring compliance, good governance and strong controls for both UK and Republic of Ireland. There will be key responsibilities around budgets and reforecasts. The role requires strong organisational skills with efficient time and resource management to ensure tight deadlines are achieved. The Financial Accountant will be expected to be pro-active in improving systems, processes, controls and driving efficiencies.Place of Work: Based in our Support Office in Llandudno - some hybrid working may be possibleKey ResponsibilitiesPreparation and submission of management accounts and information pack (fully supported by detailed working papers and full reconciliation processes) on time and in line with management calendar.Manage inputs into the month-end process in a timely manner.Corporation tax preparation.Preparation and reconciliation of VAT Returns.Support statutory audit and preparation of statutory year end accounts.Support Revenue and Government submissions in a timely manner.Support annual budgeting and monthly reforecasting.Review incentive schemes payouts, reconciliations and approvals.Proactively manage financial controls, applying appropriate policy where necessary and identifying areas for improvement.Proactive review and development of policies, systems and processes to minimise both risk and cost, and to maximise efficiencies.Ensure compliance with Internal Controls and support Internal Audit process including follow up actions.Responsibility around reporting of key balance sheet items e.g. inventory & other assets; ensuring accurate reporting, processes and review.Assist in projects as required and provide financial information and insights.Ensure contingency cover and support up-to-date workflows/systems documentation.Develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Provide thoughtful challenge to support delivery of financial performance.Build and maintain strong partnerships throughout the organisation.Candidate RequirementsEssentialQualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (part qualified candidates will be considered with relevant experience)Sound financial background with experience of financial accounts and taxGood co-ordination and time management skillsAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailDesirableAt least three years relevant accounting experience in a finance department/teamPrevious management accounts experience, comfortable with reporting at a senior level and taking responsibilityPerson SpecificationIT literate with exceptional attention to detailStrategic, creative thinker with excellent analytical skillsGood communication skillsProven in developing and maintaining relationships throughout an organisation and being able to challenge, facilitate discussions and address barriersAble to organise and prioritise workload and keep all stakeholders informed on expected timeframesPositive, proactive approach to workSonova is an equal opportunity employer.We team up.
