Financial Accountant

Anderson Knight are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join one of our key clients who are a globally renowned Energy business.

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

My client is ideally looking for someone newly qualified coming from practice with a strong audit background. However they will be open to candidates with similar experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with accounting principles and regulations


• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries


• Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance


• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets and financial plans


• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors as needed


• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant - ACCA / CA


• Experience in statutory accounts and experience in a PLC or large corporate environment is a plus.


• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)


• Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus


• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
