Financial Accountant - Insurance (FTC)
London (Hybrid Working) Fixed Term Contract (12 Months) Full Time
Grade 4
Working in the Accounting and Control Centre of Excellence function you will be a key member of the Services Finance team with accountability around the Controls and processes underpinning the services business delivery of £500m including revenue across Customer Support Agreements (CSA), Insurance, Added Value Services, Delivery and Installation, Subscriptions, Prepaid & Credit and Value Chain.
You will also liaise with the wider finance (UK & Infosys) team to ensure alignment on accounting, forecasting & reporting and co-ordinate a seamless finance service. This role will offer the chance to gain an in depth understanding of the group's Service Revenue and help to drive effective performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Review of Bordereau production for each market, ensuring cash collection and claims costs are accurately reflected
Support the Period End Process with focus on Value Chain and CSA and supporting the close process for other areas of Services Revenue.
Management accounting ownership including month end, P&L submission and balance sheet reconciliations
Working closely with the finance team in Infosys and take ownership for the review and sign off of balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting
Ensuring accounting treatments are in line with relevant accounting and minimum control standards
Budgeting and Forecasting - support these key processes with insights into key drivers and movements
Provide management reporting for decision making - trend, variance & sensitivity analysis
Managingmultiple senior stakeholders where required
Drive process improvement through developing new ideas to enhance existing controls supported through CI workstream
Advise the Accounting & Control CoE on best practice and the financial accounting implications of new initiatives, seeking guidance where necessary
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to apply process knowledge and explain clearly to others
Able to support, challenge and influence Services Financial Controller - helping navigate through business and Finance processes
Analyse and understand complex data and situations to recommend the optimal solution
Track record of delivering end to end to solutions in a planned and controlled manner
Experience of insurance environments ideally
Strong academics and qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with 3+ PQE
Experience of operating within a finance team, preferably at a large complex organisation
Highly organised and structured, ability to forward plan to ensure personal and team deadlines are achieved
Ability to influence senior business partners and the operation to challenge business performance
